Fiona Fitzpatrick BA (Hons),MA


Fiona is a state registered Art Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner. She is passionate about trauma informed care, being trained as an EMDR practitioner and a CAAT practitioner (children’s accelerated trauma treatment).

Fiona’s theoretical approach is psychodynamic, influenced by Object Relations, Attachment and Attunement theories. Mindfulness and a compassionate based approaches are also central to her work as a therapist. Fiona is a full member of BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) and keeps up to date on training, research and developments.

She has been working for several years as an Art Psychotherapist with children, young people & adults via her social enterprise Arts Psychotherapies UK which was set up to offer Arts Therapies services in the North East community to more children, young people and adults as an alternative to talking therapies. She has done extensive work with adopted children and families, children and adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, stroke survivors, adults with substance misuse, anxiety, depression and bereavement. 
Using a trauma informed approach to her work, Fiona utilises EMDR and CAAT trauma treatments when appropriate.
