Experience and Qualifications:

Fay is the Owner of Evolve Therapy Rooms Ltd and set up this service to try and bridge the gap in the lack of mental health provision in the North East and to provide people with an alternative to waiting months for therapy.  She is passionate about people and helping them to help themselves.  Her philosophy is "life can be challenging at times but if you can get the support you need it can be made easier".

Fay is a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Counsellor who qualified in 2012 and has experience working on contracts  within the NHS, voluntary/charity sector and private practice.   She works with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, low self-esteem, low confidence, anger, abuse and stress. She has specialist knowledge of working with people with debilitating illnesses and survivors of abuse.  Fay strongly believes in equality and diversity. Fay also has experience of working in a time limited framework and works collaboratively with clients to agree the focus of therapy. Furthermore, Fay has experience working on contracts commissioned by the local government to help people back into employment. This involved seeing individuals on a one to one basis and also facilitating small focus groups on issues such as low self-esteem and anger management. Although Fay’s main theory is CBT, she is able to draw upon further training and experience to be a more integrative practitioner to fit client need.

More recently Fay has become a qualified Couples Counsellor which included further learning in Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Theory and Attachment Theory.
